Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 12th congressional district, has recently shared updates on his legislative priorities and engagements through a series of posts on social media.

On September 12, 2025, Bost discussed his meeting with industry stakeholders: "I sat down with the Illinois Automobile Dealers Association to discuss challenges and opportunities facing the automotive industry. I also highlighted how I recently supported the largest working families tax cut in history, which provides a significant deduction for auto loan".

Addressing concerns about law enforcement under the current administration, Bost wrote on September 13, 2025: "For too long, weak enforcement under the Biden-Harris Administration allowed dangerous individuals to break our laws and threaten American communities. That’s why I proudly voted for the Stop Illegal Entry Act to strengthen our ability to hold criminal aliens accountable for".

On September 14, 2025, he announced recognition from an energy advocacy group: "I was honored to receive the Fueling Growth Award from Growth Energy for supporting Southern Illinois agriculture and the ethanol industry. Promoting biofuels is vital for giving our farmers more opportunities and lowering costs for consumers."

Bost has represented Illinois' 12th congressional district since winning election in 2014. Over multiple cycles he has consistently secured re-election by substantial margins: defeating William L. Enyart in 2014 (52.5% to 41.9%), Charles Baricevic in 2016 (54.3% to 39.7%), Brendan Kelly in 2018 (51.6% to 45.4%), Raymond Lenzi in 2020 (60.4% to 39.7%), and Chip Markel in 2022 with a significant lead of nearly fifty percentage points.
