Rep. Mike Bost, a U.S. Congressman from Illinois, shared updates on his recent legislative activities and participation in congressional events through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between September 15 and 16, 2025.

On September 15, Bost highlighted his role in leading discussions on the House floor regarding legislation for veterans. He stated, "Today I managed debate on the House floor as we considered 14 bipartisan veterans bills that will help boost health care access for those who served, improve the VA disability claims process, and modernize the transition to civilian life for our active-duty men and women. Later that evening, Bost posted about attending a prayer vigil following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He wrote on September 15: "Tonight I joined my colleagues in Congress at a prayer vigil for Charlie Kirk. Together, we mourn the loss of a life taken far too soon and lift up his family, loved ones, and all those impacted by his horrific and hateful assassination. May God grant them comfort and peace in".

The following day, Bost commented on a policy decision regarding federal research funding. On September 16 he posted: "The National Institutes of Health will not renew federal grants for research using aborted fetal tissue. I have long fought to end the use of taxpayer dollars for this kind of research. Thank you President Trump for righting this wrong and reestablishing that America is a nation".

Bost has represented Illinois in Congress since winning election in 2014 against William L. Enyart with 52.5% of the vote. He was subsequently re-elected multiple times: defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016 with 54.3%, Raymond Lenzi in 2020 with 60.4%, Brendan Kelly in 2018 with 51.6%, and Chip Markel in 2022 with a significant margin of 75%.
