City of Belleville Electrical Commission met Aug. 26

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

DATE: August 26, 2025

1. CALL TO ORDER / OPENING REMARKS

Chairman Tom Bell called the meeting to order at 1:08 p.m.

2. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS AND STAFF

• PRESENT - Chairman Tom Bell, Joe Harnist, Tracy Aranico, Josh Hader, Rob Roehrig

• ABSENT - Bryan Jarvis

• STAFF MEMBERS - Ed Escobedo, Electrical Inspector; Joe Ellison, Assistant Fire Chief; Lloyd Cueto, Assistant City Attorney

GUESTS - Ryan Zaricki- Bone Dry Solar

Jacob Petric- Academy Air

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion to approve the minutes for July 22, 2025

4. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - None

5. NEW BUSINESS

• Ryan Zaricki- Bone Dry Solar

Ryan Zaricki discussed his work history with the committee. Ed Escobedo discussed inspections and what is expected as a contractor. Assistant City Lloyd Cueto informed Paul Joyce that he can only be licensed with one Electrical Commission August 26, 2025 mg electrical company at a time. Ryan Zaricki stated his company is coming in and finishing jobs that other solar contactors have left unfinished.

A motion was made to approve Ryan Zaricki to become licensed electrical contractor.

• Jacob Petric- Academy Air

The committee reviewed the application and supporting documentation Jacob Petric. Jacob came before the committee to discuss his work history.

A motion was made to deny Jacob Petric an electrical license due to not having enough documented industrial and commercial work history.

• Samuel Cox- ECOcentrix Energy Solutions

The committee reviewed the additional documentation submitted by Samuel Cox showing his work history.

A motion was made to send Samuel Cox a letter stating we need six years of unredacted W2s.

The committee reviewed the application and supporting documentation for Mark Litteken.

A motion was made to invite Mark Litteken for an interview.

Discussion of Homeowner Minor Work Checklist

The committee discussed making a list of "minor" jobs that a homeowner can do on their own, when the home is not owner occupied. Discussion was held about number inspections before the homeowner is required to hire a Electrical Commission August 26, 2025 mg contractor and reinspection fees. Ed Escobedo will make a checklist and have it for next month's meeting on September 23, 2025.

Discussion of Contractor List

The committee discussed the current contractor list. The committee would like to have multiple lists of contractors.

Tom Bell asked if we could have the following lists- code compliance/residential service/solar/commercial & industrial.
