Small business act clears House of Representatives.
Small business owners are celebrating after House Rep. Mike Bost's Stronger Voice for Small Business Act 2015 (H.R. 1429) passed earlier this month.
On Oct. 1, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 270 to 160 in favor of the Stronger Voice for Small Business Act, which is included in the National Defense Authorization Act and amends the Small Business Act passed in 2015.
Small businesses are seeking out ways to better gauge and define their status under the law.
"In order to grow jobs and hire more workers, small businesses must have certainty and a clearer definition of the guidelines used to determine their size and status," Bost said.
The Stronger Voice for Small Business Act is meant to reduce the amount of legal battles small businesses currently face by allowing small businesses to directly appeal to the Small Business Administration.
