The PGA recently notified Collinsville, Illinois Area Recreation District (CARD) that Mark Marcuzzo, who calls CARD’s Arlington Greens golf course home, has won the 2015 Gateway PGA Patriot Golf Award.

The Patriot Award goes annually to the PGA professional “who best personifies patriotism through the game of golf and best demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the men and women who have served and protected the United States.”

Marcuzzo works with clinics and programs such as Boots on the Green year-round. An annual tournament for Boots on the Green is held and all proceeds go to the organization. The program pairs veterans with active duty personnel. Additionally, adaptive golf carts are available on the course.

“Mark has always demonstrated a record of service to the Gateway PGA and he continues to be recognized as one of the very best PGA members,” Josh Riley, Executive Director of the PGA, said.

The PGA will recognize Marcuzzo on December 6 at the Meadowbrook Country Club during their 2015 Awards Gala.
