Alton Civil Service Commission to meet on Dec. 16

The Alton, Illinois Civil Service Commission will meet on Dec. 16 at 8:15 a.m.

The meeting, which will take place in Room 203 at Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third St., will cover applications, job descriptions, positions, promotions, resignations and retirements.

The Civil Service Commission of Alton exists to classify all positions in the city's service that are subject to the provisions of the civil service statute. It publishes rules that examine, qualify, and certify any applicants who want to be employed in the city's civil service. Additionally, it investigates any and all removals or suspensions of employees.

The commission's chair is Terry Bristow. The commission's members include Vicki Searles-Williams and David Goins. Rodney Caffey is the commission's attorney.
