The City Council of Alton, Illinois will meet Dec.9 to discuss resolutions, ordinances and other business.
An important resolution the council plans to talk about is the finance committee bill. The resolution allows for the bill and for payments to be made. Another item of note, a resolution on Chronic Nuisance Buildings, would remove that clause from the City Code.
During the reading of the ordinances, the council will discuss Ordinance No. 7489, which repeals an earlier ordinance that created one handicapped parking space in front of 701 Oakwood. Another ordinance, Ordinance No. 7409, approves the execution of the IMLRMA minimum/maximum contribution agreement.
Other business includes a bid report and resolution for the demolition of 619 East Broadway for the Building and Zoning department.
After these three parts of the meeting, there will be a public form. Afterwards, in the executive session, the council will consider information on employment, hiring and dismissal of an employee as well as collective negotiation matters and any pending litigation.
