The Alton, Illinois Amphitheater Commission convened recently to discuss financial reports, amphitheater cleanliness and other issues regarding the venue.

To start the meeting, commission member Brett Stawar made a motion, which member Karen Baker-Brncic seconded, to approve financial reports.

The commission then discussed various issues regarding the venue. First, members discussed the untidy condition of the Amphitheater after the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. The vendors, they said, left a lot of trash and waste about the complex. Second, there were reports of staff rudeness to patrons during the concert. Commission members said such issues must be addressed since it reflects on the venue.

Two upcoming events were also mentioned at the meeting, the gospel series that weekend and the Giraffe Run next April.

The commission members present at the meeting included Michelle Brooks, Tom Hawkins, Baker-Brncic and Stawar.
