The Civil Service Commission for the City of Alton, Illinois will convene Jan. 6 for its first meeting of 2016.
After approving the minutes from its previous meeting, the commission will hear any public comments. Afterwards, the commission will hold a discussion on a number of items, including applications, job descriptions, positions, promotions, resignations, retirements and new business.
In a closed session, the commission will also examine personnel matters, pending litigations and an oral examination of any applicants as necessary. The commission will subsequently return to open session to review any other business on the docket before adjourning.
The meeting will be held in Room 203 at Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third St., beginning at 8:15 a.m. The commission will meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month during 2016.
