Granite City Public Works Committee convened to discuss sign removal around the town

Handicap

The Public Works Committee for Granite City, Illinois convened recently over the removal of handicapped signs from various areas in the town.

After Chairman Don Thompson called the meeting to order, he noted that there were three handicapped signs that need to be removed. The locations for these signs are 2712 W. 22nd St., 2254 Lee Ave. and 2256 Lee Ave. After some discussion on the issue, a motion was presented to accept the removal of the handicapped signs. The motion was seconded and carried.

A request for a handicapped parking space at 2251 Delmar Ave. was tabled until the next  meeting.

Committee members present at the meeting included Thompson, Walmer Schmidtke, Bill Davis and Bob Pickerell.
