Madison County Board discussed ways to end homelessness at recent meeting

The Madison County, Illinois Board discussed a federal program application to fight homelessness at a recent board meeting.

A resolution was brought forth authorizing the submission of the 2015 HUD Continuum of Care Program application for the Madison County Partnership to End Homelessness in Madison County. The board authorized the submission, setting the grant amount of approximately $2 million.

The board further decided that the Community Development Department would act as the county’s authorized representative in connection with the Continuum of Care program. This group will provide any needed additional information to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Other orders of business at the meeting included hearing monthly reports from the County Clerk, Circuit Clerk, Coroner, Recorder of Deeds, Regional Office of Education and the Treasurer.
