Madison County IT Committee gives update on Data Center project, host of others.
In a recent meeting, the Information Technology Committee for Madison County, Illinois, discussed updates for a host of committee projects, including the Data Center project and the new CMS system.
In total, the committee went over the status of nine projects. A project walkthrough has been scheduled for the Data Center project. The New World project is at a stage where it will focus on public safety, specifically fire service and EMS. The county has received $40,000 for the Brownfield Grant.
All IT systems for the county will be making a mainframe move. Additionally, the committee is installing a new CMS system. In another project, the IT committee will be moving locations. In an important update, the committee also announced an EMA-sponsored, statewide disaster exercise. It will also be investigating a STARR grant for a regional helicopter video downlink.
Finally, the committee noted that new panic buttons have been installed on VOIP phones. Staff will be trained on the new system shortly.
Other highlights of the meeting include approving the committee’s regular monthly purchases and purchase requests from Boss Solutions, VMWare Maintenance and Dell Server. A resolution for the Cisco maintenance has also been approved.
