Madison County ETSB meets to discuss statewide 9-1-1 Advisory Board.
The Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) for Madison County recently met to hear from Coordinator Terry McFarland on the statewide 9-1-1 Advisory Board meetings.
McFarland reported that the St. Clair County 9-1-1 Office has filed a lawsuit against the state in regards to the state withholding surcharge revenues. He also noted that power outages have occurred at some PSAPs.
St. Clair County was also dealing with outages at the same time. AT&T’s Resolution Center claimed the problem stemmed from the failure of a power transformer. It plans to install a redundancy power source.
The board also discussed the consolidation report, where McFarland noted that he held a meeting with a group of police officers receptive to a consolidation effort, including NWS, CAD and RMS.
The Madison County Emergency Telephone System Board exists to oversee implementation and maintenance of the 9-1-1 emergency telephone system in the county.
