The Madison County Board will meet on Jan. 20 to examine a resolution that urges members of the U.S. Congress to take steps toward reducing foreign steel dumping.
The board will also hear reports from the Finance and Government Operations, Health Department, Planning and Development, Public Safety, Real Estate Tax Cycle and Transportation committees.
These groups will bring forward a host of resolutions, such as a resolution authorizing the Green Schools Environmental Grant FY 2016 and a resolution to purchase a new dump truck with snow plow for the Highway Department.
The board will also assess monthly reports from the county clerk, circuit clerk, recorder, sheriff, treasurer and coroner.
Another important aspect of this meeting will be the announcement of county appointments. Nancy Kruckenberg will be recommended to the Cahokia Creek Drainage and Levee District. John Hamm will be recommended to the Southwestern Illinois Flood Prevention District.
