Godfrey board of trustees examines reports from January flooding event

The board of trustees for the Village of Godfrey, Illinois, recently held a meeting under the supervision of Mayor Michael McCormick to discuss reports from the city’s subcommittees.

The Public Safety Committee provided an update on reporting for the January flooding event. The village has now submitted all reports.

The other committees in attendance provided reports, as well, and each updated the board on when their next meetings would occur. The Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 12. The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 17.

Ordinances were examined during the new business portion of the meeting, including one that establishes no-parking areas on certain streets within the village.

Present at the meeting were Sarah Jones, Karen McAtee, Joe Springman, Mark Stewart, Michael Stumpf and Eldon Williams. Budget Director Joe Hughes, Building Code and Zoning Administrator Laura Dixon, Director of Parks and Recreation Kimberly Caughran and Director of Maintenance Jim Lewis were also in attendance.
