The City of Alton recently held a regular City Council meeting to discuss its support and endorsement of the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor Bureau as the state-certified bureau for the Alton Metroplex.
The council approved resolutions for lease agreements between the city and Tony’s Lounge Inc., Ragin Cajun, Chez Marilyn Inc., Catdaddy’s Tavern and Bossanova of Alton Inc.
Chairman Charles Brake presented a report from the Committee of the Whole meeting and discussed a resolution that would have the city amend its animal control ordinance, recognizing a trap-neuter-return strategy as an effective and humane way to reduce the population of the city’s stray cats.
