Alton City Council appoints new committee members, awards bid contracts

The Alton City Council recently met to make various committee appointments and announce bid approvals for assorted city projects.

Mark Wuellner was reappointed to the Appearance Review Commission and John Rain Jr. to the Plan Commission. Eva Perkins and James Rogalsky were also appointed to the Plan Commission.

The bid for mowing and trimming services in Alton was given to Cutting Edge Lawn Service of Alton for $.0089 per square foot for mowing and $20 per man, per hour, for bush and waste removal.

D&D Tire Service LLC won the bid for new tires for various departments of the city. Universal Abatement Inc. won the contract for asbestos abatement at 1310 Washington Ave. in the amount of $11,134.
