The Parks and Recreation Committee for the Village of Maryville recently met to discuss walkway paver updates at Fred Winter Park, the 2016 events calendar, the Sliva Log Cabin and Chamber news.
Mayor Larry Gulledge talked about issues related to Drost Park, including the ongoing project to rid the park of dead trees, put up fish signs and repair asphalt in various locations. The mayor also discussed adding a concrete apron around the new restrooms on the west side of the lake in the park and adding more tables near the first pavilion.
Also of importance at the meeting was the note that the committee is working to come up with a list of movies to show during the summer movie series.
Members in attendance at the meeting included Glyn Adams, Jerry Church, Bob Hunter, Bob Kilzer, Sharon Petty, Colleen Seiffert, Alex Walk and Judy Wiemann.
