The Edwardsville City Council met April 5 to approve an IDOT resolution for maintenance of streets and highways by the municipality under the Illinois Highway Code, in the amount of $420,000.
The council also approved a sole-source resolution with Korte & Luitjohan Contractors Inc. in the amount of $218,260.00 for improvements to Linden Street and the adjoining alleyway, in addition to a sewer tap on fee agreement for 108 McKinley.
In addition, members voted to approve the capital purchase of gas masks and filters from Pro-Tech in the amount of $5,956.29 and a Polaris ATV from William Nobbe & Company, Waterloo, Illinois, in the amount of $12,975. This was the low bid.
Council members discussed and approved a sole-source resolution for the purchase of 10 X26P Taser devices, with battery packs and cartridges from Taser International, for the sum of $10,750.66. Also approved was a sole-source resolution approving Air Cleaning Technologies Inc. (Plymovent) for the materials and installation of vehicle exhaust systems for a total cost not to exceed $107,000.
Finally, the council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to execute an easement with Ameren Illinois Company.
