The Madison County Emergency Telephone System Board approved the formation of a new committee, meant to draft a plan for consolidation emergency telephone services, during a special meeting on April 4.
The new seven-member committee will be filled by fire and police officials from varying jurisdictions and led by an elected chair. It will have until July to draft a plan for consolidating local emergency telephone services and submit it to the county ETSB. If approved, the ETSB will submit the report to the state.
If the committee fails to produce a draft consolidation plan by July 1, the ETSB will submit its own plan.
