Alton City Council to meet, consider business items

City

Members of the Alton City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 27.

The Alton City Council is charged with reviewing all of the city's ordinances and amendments, along with approving the city’s budget, expenditures and bid awards. Members meet at 7:30 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday.

b. Resolution, re: That the Mayor and appropriate officials are hereby authorized and directed to sign on behalf of the City the proposal received from Andres medical Billing, LTD.

c. Resolution, re: The City of Alton Historic Commission recommends changes to the Historic Commission Regulations and that the attached ordinance be considered.

d. Resolution, re: That the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached professional services contract between Heartlands Conservancy and the City of Alton for pedestrian/bicycle master planning services.

e. Resolution, re: That the mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Intergovernmental Agreement between Madison County Mass Transit District and the City of Alton regarding the Alton Regional Multi-modal Transportation Center.

f. Resolution, re: That permission be requested from the Illinois Department of Transportation to temporarily close off certain streets on August 27, 2016 for the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor day parade in the City of Alton.

g. Resolution, re: That the attached ordinance annexing the aforesaid territory to the City of Alton pursuant to the voluntary Petition of Larry Manns be considered.

h. Resolution, re: Greater Madison County Federation of Laborers desires to hold a special event on August 27, 2016, which event shall include the outdoor sale of food and alcoholic beverages and that the following special event be and is hereby approved pursuant to City of Alton Code 4-4-9 and a variance is hereby granted for sale and distribution of alcoholic liquors on public property.

i. Resolution, re: The City of Alton and James E. Dempsey desire to enter into a new Lease Agreement for farm property for the years 2017 and 2018 and that the Mayor and appropriate city officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Lease Agreement.

j. Resolution, re: That the Comptroller is hereby authorized to solicit local financial institutions for their respective quotes so as to provide a line of credit to be used for the purchase of three ambulances.

k. Resolution, re: Bid #2016-19; Demolition of 616 Olmstead Way

l. Resolution, re: Bid #2016-20 Asbestos Abatement at 1914 Washington Ave., 2121 CountryClub Drive, 240 W. 19th Street and 2421 Clawson Street.

c. Resolution, re: That the Mayor and appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized and directed to accept the technical proposal presented to the City of Alton dated June 6, 2016 from ECOEngineers of Des Moines, Iowa.
