Mike Babcock, the Republican candidate running for the state House seat in District 111, recently signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is a project developed by Tax Accountability, the Taxpayers United of American’s (TUA) political action arm. The pledge requires political candidates to promise to decrease the overall tax burden of their constituents to support economic freedom.
The TUA, founded in Chicago in 1976 by activist and economist Jim Tobin, is a taxpayer advocacy group that is nonpartisan. The TUA conducts itself on behalf of taxpayers to decrease local, state and federal taxes. The group has saved taxpayers approximately $200 billion in taxes in the last 40 years and has grown to become one of the nation’s largest taxpayer organization.
