Southern Illinois-Edwardsville will host a wrestling prospect camp on Oct. 22, according to SIUEcougars.com.
The Cougars wrestling coaching staff, as well as current Cougars wrestlers, will conduct the two-session camp from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Vadalabene Center. The first session, which will focus on technique, will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second session, which will be focused on a “college style” practice, will run from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Each session consists of “folkstyle” wrestling. Lunch will not be provided.

The SIUE wrestling program is entering its fourth season under Head Coach Jeremy Spates. During his first three seasons, Spates coached five Southern Conference Tournament individual champions. In March, 125-pounder Freddie Rodriguez became the first SIUE wrestler to win two matches at the Division I national tournament. Recently, Rodriguez, a senior, was ranked No. 14 in the nation by WIN Magazine.
