Three current employees in the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) athletic department recently received promotions as part of the department's restructuring, according to SIUECougars.com.
Emily Skowron, a four-year employee at SIUE, is now the assistant athletics director for internal operations. Sandy Montgomery, the head softball coach who joined the department in 1985 after a standout softball career at the school, is now the associate athletic director for alumni relations. She will continue as head coach. And Jason Coomer, who has worked in many roles in his nine years at SIUE, is the deputy athletic director.
Some open positions the department had were consolidated, with remaining duties taken on by the newly promoted employees. The three open positions the department has posted are assistant athletic director for sales and marketing, business associate for ticketing and events and an office support associate.
