Collinsville Community Appearance Board discusses sponsorship options

The city of Collinsville Community Appearance Board met Oct. 12 to discuss sponsorship options.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the board:

"The Community Appearance Board was formed in 1991 and tasked with the following goals:

to establish a board that would explore projects, activities, and events in cooperation with civic, charitable, and business organizations that would enhance the beautification of the City.

to recognize areas in need of maintenance and improvement within the city, and pursue programs designed to keep those areas in good condition.

to create a board with sufficient numbers of members in which projects can be completed.

to work with City leaders within budget to maintain specific park/green areas in major thoroughfares in the City."

1. Discuss sponsorship options - Festival of Trees event (Wednesday, December 7)

2. Plantings at Collinsville sign/sculpture area (Rt. 159 @ Clay St.)

3. Discuss possible Christmas light displays at Collinsville sign/sculputer area (Rt. 159 @ Clay St.) and two

landscaped areas (Rt. 159 @ Main St.)

4. Replacement of old sign at McDonough Lake and Horseshoe Lake Rd. (next to Fournie Farms)

F. OLD BUSINESS

1. Reminder - next clean up scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2016. Meet at parking lot across from City

Hall at 7:00am.

2. Mow Schedule:

3. Update on replacing City entrance signs

4. Update on replacing Yard of the Month signs

G. COMMENTS FROM COMMISSION MEMBERS

2. Yard of the Year voting underway on City's website (Oct. 1-19). Presentation scheduled for October 24 at

regular Council meeting.
