The Southern Illinois-Edwardsville softball team wrapped up its fall schedule with a 6-0 record, according to siuecougars.com.
The Cougars took a doubleheader from Lake Land College by scores of 2-0 and 5-1 on Oct. 9 at Cougar Field to wrap up fall play.
In the six games, the Cougars scored 22 runs and had 38 hits, including six doubles, and nine walks. The team had a cumulative batting average of .250 and an on-base percentage of .312.
On the mound, SIUE had a team earned-run average of 0.47 over 45 innings. Cougar pitchers had 50 strikeouts – an average of 7.78 strikeouts per seven innings – against nine walks and 20 hits allowed.
Next up for the Cougars will be the spring season, which will start in February. The Cougars made it to the Ohio Valley Conference championship game in the previous three seasons.
