Alton Civil Service Commission signs resignations

The city of Alton Civil Service Commission met Aug. 3 to sign resignations.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the commission:

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Minutes of Regular Meeting

August 3, 2016

A regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 8:15am on August 3, 2016, at Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third Street, Alton, Illinois.

Members Present: Terry Bristow, Jonas Janek

Members Absent: Vicki Searles-Williams

Staff Present: Civil Service Attorney Rodney Caffey

Guests Present: None

A motion was made by Mr. Bristow and seconded by Mr. Janek to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on July 20, 2016. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Bristow and seconded by Mr. Janek to approve the minutes of the special meeting on July 29, 2016. Motion passed.

Sergeant Weirich and Jailer McAfoos’ resignations were signed.

One requisition for Police Sergeant was signed and three requisitions for Police Officers were signed.

The ADA requirements on Sewer and Street Job Descriptions were briefly discussed. Tabled for further discussion.

Sewer Maintenance V position was filled internally. Testing is being held the next two weeks to establish an eligibility list.

A motion was made at 8:20am by Mr. Bristow and seconded by Mr. Janek to enter closed session.

A motion was made at 9:15am by Mr. Janek and seconded by Mr. Bristow to return to open session.

With no further business, Mr. Janek made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bristow to adjourn at 9:15am.

Motion passed.
