Godfrey climate committee changes sustainability plan

The village of Godfrey Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee met Dec. 12 to change the sustainability plan.

December 12, 2016

Nate Keener, Chairman called the meeting of the Godfrey Climate Protection

and Energy Efficiency Committee of the Village of Godfrey to order at 10:00

a.m., December 12, 2016, at the Godfrey Village Hall, 6810 Godfrey Road,

Godfrey, Illinois.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT

Present: Nate Keener, Lee Sudlow, Susan Murray, Don Dieckmann, Pam

Whisler, Vannette McConahey, Advisory: Virginia Woulfe-Beile.

Absent: Carolyn Scott

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Carolyn Scott moved for the approval of the minute from November 14, 2016;

Seconded by Don Dieckmann. Poll of Committee: Ayes-5, Nays-0, Absent-1.

Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

No public comments at this time.

STRAIGHT UP SOLAR COMMUNITY PRICING PROGRAM UPDATE AND

NEXT STEPS:

Chairman Keener reported that the Solarize Godfrey Program has been

completed and a total of 14 household have sign contracts for solar systems for

a total of 150 KW. The next step will be for completion of the systems by

Straight Up Solar.

Chairman Keener reported that Madison County is working with Glen Carbon

on establishing a Solar Community Pricing Program as a county wide program

for next year.

LIGHTING PROPOSAL

Chairman Keener reported that A & D Electrical Supply at of Highland, Illinois

is working in completing the street light installations. Street lights on Homer

Adams Parkway have been completed. The System cost will be paid in full in

about 8 months of completion.

SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

Chairman Keener presented the changes to the Introduction to the

Sustainability Plan for final consideration at the next meeting. The Committee

will presented final copy to the Village Board in February 2017 for approval.

Sudlow.
