City of Granite City Police Committee met March 21.

Tim Elliot, Paul Jackstadt, Gerald Williams, Walmer Schmidtke, Don Thompson, Ed Hagnauer, Dan McDowell, Nikki Petrillo, Bob Pickerell, Bill Davis, Judy Whitaker, Brian Konzen

Aldermen Elliott called the Police Committee Meeting to order. 

Elliott turned over Chief Miller to discuss the Ordinance to declare surplus and to transfer seven surplus motor vehicles currently in the possession of the police department. 

Chief Miller stated that this is a chance for the city to give old vehicles to other cities that could us them. 

Motion by McDowell, second by Pickerell to approve the Ordinance to declare surplus and to transfer sever surplus motor vehicles currently in the possession of the police department. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried. 

Elliott stated that next is a Resolution to approve contract with Whelan Security and turned back over to Chief Miller. 

Chief Miller stated that Gateway Hospital is in need of extra security for the emergency room and other areas in the hospital. They want to hire the Granite City Police threw COR to handle problem areas of the hospital. 

Motion by Elliott, second by Petrillo to approve the resolution to approve a contract with Whelan Security concerning off-duty work by Granite City Police Officers at Gateway Regional Medical Center. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried. 

Motion by McDowell, second by Simpson to adjourn the Police Committee Meeting. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.
