A Bethalto insurance company has been named the RiverBend Growth Association's "Small Business of the Month" for August, according to a press release.
Tom Lane and his State Farm agency serve the Metro East area, including Bethalto, Alton, East Alton, Dorsey, Bunker Hill, Holiday Shores, South Roxana, Hartford, Wood River, Roxana and Cottage Hills. Lane's website says he has been involved in insurance and finance since 1998, is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the RiverBend Growth Association. He is graduate of Illinois State University and the director of the Jr. Eagles Basketball Club.
The rest of the agency's team members are Jacob Menke, account representative; Janette Smith, staff assistant; Garett Braun and Sharri Piar, insurance account representatives; and Vicki Broyles, marketing associate.
The growth association said winners are chosen monthly based on a points system that looks at years in business, community service, number of employees and ability to overcome adversity.
