City of Fairview Heights City Council met July 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The regular meeting of the Fairview Heights City Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Mark T. Kupsky in the Municipal Complex, 10025 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL with the Invocation by City Clerk Karen J. Kaufhold and the Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Kupsky.

Roll Call:

Roll call of Aldermen present: Ryan Vickers, Denise Williams, Frank Menn, Joshua Frawley, Pat Baeske, Brenda Wagner, Harry Zimmerman, Pat Peck and Roger Lowry. Alderman Bill Poletti was absent. Mayor Mark T. Kupsky, City Clerk Karen J. Kaufhold and City Attorney Kevin Hoerner were also present.

Public Participation:

None.

Consent Agenda:

Alderman Williams moved to approve the July 5th City Council Minutes, the Finance Director's Report and the bills and invoices as presented for payment in the amount of $1,865,414.34. Seconded by Alderman Baeske.

Roll call on the motion showed Aldermen Vickers, Williams, Menn, Frawley, Baeske, Wagner, Zimmerman, Peck and Lowry voting "Yea." Alderman Poletti was absent. Motion passed on 9 yeas and 1 absent.

Committee Reports:

Mayor Kupsky announced the Community Committee will meet July 19th, 7:00 p.m.

Communications from the Mayor:

Mayor Kupsky stated that the Parks Department "Movie in the Park Event" was well attended and thanked the Rotary Club for their give a ways and snacks for the kids; Mayor stated Pavilion Five at Moody Park is moving along and should be ready to use this weekend; Mayor urged everyone to stay Cool during this heat wave and to check on your neighbors and those who may not have air conditioning; Mayor stated that the Homecoming Association is looking for volunteers.

Communications from Elected Officials:

City Clerk Kaufhold announced the Annual City Auction will be held on September 9, 9:00 a.m. at the Municipal Complex.

Unfinished Business:

None.

New Business:

Proposed Resolution No. 51-17, a Resolution repealing Resolution No. 4016-2016, passed May 17, 2016 and approved May 18, 2016 and; a Resolution requesting permission from the Illinois Department of Transportation to close portions of Lincoln Trail (Formerly U.S. Route 50) for the Fairview Heights Homecoming Parade. Motion made by Alderman Lowry. Seconded by Alderman Peck.

Proposed Resolution No. 51-17 passed on a voice vote.

Proposed Resolution No. 51-17 now becomes Resolution No. 4131-2017.

Proposed Resolution No. 52-17, a Resolution authorizing the City to sell five surplus vehicles per bids received June 30, 2017. Motion made by Alderman Peck. Seconded by Alderman Wagner.

Roll call on Proposed Resolution No. 52-17 showed Aldermen Vickers, Williams, Menn, Frawley, Baeske, Wagner, Zimmerman, Peck and Lowry voting "Yea." Alderman Poletti was absent. Proposed Resolution No. 52-17 passed on 9 yeas and 1 absent.

Proposed Resolution No. 52-17 now becomes Resolution No. 4132-2017.

Proposed Resolution No. 53-17, a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract on behalf of the City with Collins & Hermann Inc. for the Interstate 64 and Illinois Route 159 Interchange Fence Maintenance. Motion made by Alderman Zimmerman. Seconded by Alderman Lowry.

Roll call on Proposed Resolution No. 53-17 showed Aldermen Vickers, Williams, Menn, Frawley, Baeske, Wagner, Zimmerman, Peck and Lowry voting "Yea." Alderman Poletti was absent. Proposed Resolution No. 53-17 passed on 9 yeas and 1 absent.

Proposed Resolution No. 53-17 now becomes Resolution No. 4133-2017.

Alderman Baeske moved to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Peck. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
