City of Belleville Public Health & Housing Committee met November 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Chairman Pusa called the meeting to order at 6 pm.

On roll call all members were present.

Alderman Tyler made a motion to accept the minutes from the October 4, 2017 minutes second by Tricia Tialdo. Motion carried.

No one spoke under public participation

No old business.

On new business:

Motion was made by Alderman Barfield to approve the scarpping of a 2003 Ford Taurus from the Housing Department fleet due to mileage and mechanical issues. Second by Alderman Tyler. All members voted Aye.

Alderwoman Stiehl made a motion to approve the bid of $26,300.00 from Hanks Excavating Inc for the demolition of the South Side Park Improvement Building located at 800 S. 6th St. due to hazardous conditions. Second by Tricia Tialdo. On roll call all members voted Aye, motion carried.

Alderman Ovian advised that he working on drafting a ordinance where all rental properties are to have separate meters placed in the occupants name. Some buildings only have one meter and a master meter can be installed for individual tenants. This would assist in keeping track of tenants when occupancy changes and insures that the City would be notified.

After discussion it was determined to obtain further information on this proposal and to table until such time.

With no further business Alderman Tyler made a motion to adjourn, second by Tricia Tialdo.
