Analysis: Collinsville pays $3.45 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Collinsville Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.6 percent of the $1,015,392 the Collinsville Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.45 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Collinsville contributed $787,667 to the fund, which saw a $36,469 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $227,725, or 22.4 percent, in 2016.
