Analysis: Wood River pays $3.57 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wood River Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.9 percent of the $626,287 the Wood River Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.57 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wood River contributed $475,526 to the fund, which saw a $60,738 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $132,902, or 21.2 percent, in 2016. Another $17,859 came from other unspecified sources.
