Collinsville Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 9.
Congratulations are in order for Tyler Huffman, who not only recently earned his Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, but is also now designated as a Certified Floodplain Manager.
Mr. Huffman joined Oates Associates in 2014 after graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. With a desire to develop his professional capabilities, Mr. Huffman completed the MBA program. His next major milestone is becoming licensed as a Professional Engineer. He becomes qualified to take the exam in the fall of this year.
Being exposed to a broad range of projects at Oates Associates helped to recognize and develop Mr. Huffman’s interest in stormwater management. He has assisted with investigating and designing stormwater improvements for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and for communities throughout Illinois and Missouri. As a Certified Floodplain Manager, Mr. Huffman understands the regulations of floodplain management and the impacts of building within a floodplain. He can provide guidance on development and offer preventative flooding measures.
