Report: Belle Valley spent $9,982 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Belle Valley School District 119 is down 3 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the St. Clair County school district spent $10,241 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,982 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 966 to 1014.

Belle Valley's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
