Cottage Hills Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2017 - 11.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Cottage Hills included 12 fires - seven structure fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $11,000 in fire loss - or about $917 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Cottage Hills Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $63,271 in 2017.
