Meadowbrook Fire Protection District responded to 10 calls in 2017 - 100 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Meadowbrook included four fires - one structure fire, one vehicle fire and two other fires.

In all, the department saw $37,000 in fire loss - or about $9,250 per fire.

The department also received six false calls, including one malicious call and five other false calls.

The Meadowbrook Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $165,999 in 2017.
