Fairmont City Fire Department responded to 60 calls in 2017 - 39.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fairmont City included 51 fires - 33 structure fires, 15 vehicle fires and three other fires.

The department also received nine false calls.
