Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department responded to 24 calls in 2017 - 7.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fayetteville included 19 fires - four structure fires, 11 vehicle fires and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $571,000 in fire loss - or about $30,053 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
