French Village Volunteer Fire Department responded to 143 calls in 2017 - 26.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in French Village included 66 fires - 27 structure fires, 11 vehicle fires and 28 other fires.

In all, the department saw $370,700 in fire loss - or about $5,617 per fire.

The department also received 77 false calls, including three malicious calls and 74 other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The French Village Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $368,594 in 2017.
