Millstadt Fire Protection District responded to 74 calls in 2017 - 19.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Millstadt included 48 fires - 26 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 20 other fires.

The department also received 26 false calls, including five malicious calls and 21 other false calls.

The Millstadt Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $303,949 in 2017.
