Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 issued the following announcement on June 28.
Collinsville Middle School math teacher Jessica Schmittling was recently approved as the new 7th grade softball coach at CMS. The Trailblazer Softball program is hoping to grow this year and will hold tryouts on July 30 and 31 at the school. See the flyer below for details.
“Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough interest last year to make two teams at the middle school level, so we are trying to be proactive this year,” said Schmittling, “Part of the issue is that tryouts are prior to school starting, so we are working to get the information to families.”
To give the coaches an idea of students interested in playing Trailblazer Softball, parents are asked to complete the following form prior to tryouts: CMS Softball Tryouts. Students do not have to have prior softball experience to be considered for the team.
