Shutterstock 157802174

Collinsville Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 31.

Alex Sims is 10 years old and needs a bone marrow transplant to survive a rare auto-immune disease known as IPEX Syndrome. Alex is the son of Brandon Sims, a long time member of the Collinsville Chamber and former Entertainment Coordinator for the IItalianFest and Horseradish Festival.

The Gateway Grizzlies will honor Alex before their game on Sunday, August 12, 2018. They will host a Bone Marrow registration drive that evening before and during the game.

We are also gathering donations of prizes and gift certificates to be raffled off to raise funds for Alex's medical treatment and bone marrow transplant expenses. If your business would like to donate something for this great event hosted by the Gateway Grizzlies please contact Brandon Sims at gcmedia@yahoo.com or call him at 314-687-8378.

Also, consider attending the game on Sunday, August 12th to show support for Alex and our local Gateway Grizzlies.
