TRIAD COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 2: IDOT Route 40 Construction

Ti construction no left turn

Triad Community Unit School District 2 issued the following announcement on Aug. 6.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that US Route 40 from Rustic Lane to Triad Lane east of Troy in Madison County will be intermittently restricted to one lane during daylight hours beginning Thursday, August 2, 2018, weather permitting.

Two-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers. This work is required to do widening for upcoming bridge repair work. Starting Wednesday, August 8, 2018, the same location will again be restricted to one lane, weather permitting. Two-way traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals. This work is necessary to do repair work on the Silver Creek bridge.

This restriction is expected to be removed by mid-September of this year. The above two restrictions are part of a larger project, which includes resurfacing US Route 40 from Bethany Lane to the IL 4 ramps.

Delays should be expected and parents are encouraged to use school bus transportation to Triad Schools along Route 40 to assist in minimizing traffic and delays.
