Alton Appearance Review Commission met Aug. 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

MEMBERS PRESENT: Debbie Schuneman, Mike Doucleff, Barb Gearing, Gen Gearing, Margaret Hopkins, Nick Moehn

MEMBER NOT PRESENT: Kim Lane

OTHERS PRESENT: John Carrow, Sam Shaw, Building Inspector, Becky Brunaugh, Secretary

A meeting of the Appearance Review Commission was held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

Chairwoman Debbie Schuneman called the meeting to order at 8:05 AM.

Debbie Schuneman presented an amendment to the June 6 meeting’s minutes regarding the electric box at Lighthouse Sounds. She wants the minutes to reflect that Lighthouse Sounds never appeared before the commission for approval to place the box on the front of the building.

Nick Moehn made a motion to approve the amendment. Margaret Hopkins seconded the motion.

Motion passed unanimously.

Gen Gearing made a motion to approve the June 20 meeting minutes as presented. Margaret Hopkins seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

No one appeared for the application at 1104 E Broadway. The application was not voted on. John Carrow with AECON presented the application for 727 Belle. He is proposing a temporary carport, 18’ x 20’, between the job trailers on the south side of the site. The carport will be removed once remediation work is complete.

Barb Gearing made a motion to approve the application as presented. Nick Moehn seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS:

Mineral Springs needs to come before the commission for the new signs in their windows. Sam Shaw will send a letter.

There being no further discussion or comment from the public, the meeting was adjourned at 8:16 AM.
