Lebanon Community Unit School District 9 students suspended 175 times in a single school year

Lebanon Community Unit School District 9 reported 175 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 175 students during the year. That equates to 28.4 percent of the 616 students enrolled.

Of the 137 in-school suspensions, 81 were given to boys and 56 were given to girls.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 125 incidents. There were 10 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 122 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 38 out-of-school suspensions, 23 were given to boys and 15 were given to girls.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 25 incidents. There were 12 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 15 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
