Over 35 years of retirement, Copple would collect as much as $2.974 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Metro East Sun.
Copple, 60, who currently lives in Centralia earned $65,121 in her final year at Dupo CUSD 196.
The projection assumes Copple will receive 70.8 percent of that total - $46,088 - in her first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.
After three years of retirement, Copple will have already received $142,454 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of her contributions to the state teachers' pension fund.
According to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), 31.5 percent of Dupo CUSD 196 students met or exceeded the standards for the "PARCC" exams. ISBE reported that 45 percent of district's graduates were deemed "college ready" last year.
