Cahokia Mounds Museum Society issued the following announcement on March 1.
On March 10, we will be hosting a public symposium by Kulturveranstaltungen de Bundes in Berlin titled: Anthropocene. Archaeology of the Present. This is part of their project Mississippi: An Anthropocene River.
The public symposium will begin at 11 am with the first talk “The Early Rise of North America’s Dominant Crop: The Spread of Maize” by Robert Spengler, Patrick Roberts.
The remaining talks are: Horses, Donkeys, and the Anthropocene in the Indigenous Mississippian World, Lost Crops, Monsanto Town, and Significant and Insignificant Mounds.
The talks will be followed by an open discussion at 12:30.
