Unpaid fines for Altona-based campaign committee totaled $2,850 in August 2018

One campaign committee in Altona has overdue fines amounting to a total of $2,850, records obtained by the Metro East Sun show.

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that Citizens for DeSutter was the only campaign committee in Altona that was delinquent in payment for August 2018, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

The largest fine that Citizens for DeSutter has yet to pay was imposed on May 20, 2016, for a late A-1 report. The amount of this fine alone is $1,350.
